Simple Starts Sewing Class

"Sewing: A creative mess is better than tidy idleness"
Indulge yourself in a fun and creative hobby! Want to learn how to sew? Don't know where to start? I will teach you or your child the basics in hand sewing to machine sewing, cutting out patterns to choosing fabric. We will start with the very basics and work our way up to creating bags, stuffed animals, decorations for your home and clothes for you to wear! Sewing is a hobby and talent easily learned and used for a lifetime!
Ages 10+

Starting June 3rd
Class Times: 1st & 3rd Tuesdays every month 4:00-5:30 pm
Open Lab: 1st Monday of every month 4:00-6:00 pm – Come to sew or get help with the current project.
Fee: $65 @ month$50 supply fee due for Summer (June), Fall (September) & Spring (January)Supply Fee covers patterns, fabric, thread, needles, copies and paperwork for each session. Students will each need a pair of fabric scissors, pins and pin cushion and a container to carry projects to and from class in. Students will need to do sewing at home. A sewing machine is helpful to have and please bring to class if you own one. About the InstructorLola Hunt was lucky enough to be born into a sewing family. She learned from her mother and grandmother starting at a very young age. Her interest grew as she took Home Economic classes in school and went on to earn a degree in Theatre, focusing on design from Arizona State University. While at ASU, Lola's sewing skills increased as she worked in ASU Theatre's costume shop and on many productions. Lola was the costume designer for Gilbert Community Theatre's HONK! and She Loves Me. Lola sews as a hobby and has made costumes, bedding, purses and diaper bags…to name a few. She loves sewing and would love to teach you!
